New in this version
Linux Kernel 6.6.141
This update upgrades the Linux kernel to version 6.6.141.
The kernel update includes security fixes for several vulnerabilities, including “Fragnesia/Fail Copy 3.0”, the third bug within three weeks from the same family as “Dirty Frag”.
In addition, a new vulnerability called “ssh-keysign-pwn” has been discovered, in which Qualys researchers identified a race condition in the kernel’s ptrace access path.
OVMF: New Microsoft UEFI certificates (2023)
The updated OVMF package now includes the new Microsoft UEFI certificates from 2023. This ensures that Secure Boot in virtual machines remains functional even after the previous 2011 certificates expire.
System Management: Monitoring Multiple RAID Controllers
Starting with this version, multiple RAID controllers can be monitored in parallel. The megaraid_sas driver recognizes all controllers individually, and critical conditions are reported separately via Nagios.
UPS support: Reactivation of messages on the administration interface
In zhe last update, the UPS service NUT was updated. However, this required the information continuously displayed on the administration interface (job notify) to be disabled. A new update with this update of the NUT UPS service now allows the information to be displayed again.
Notes
Support for Windows 2025
The KVM guest drivers have been updated to virtio-win-0.1.285 (release 2025-09-12). The ISO image has also been compressed, which significantly improves handling and load times.
With this update, Windows 2025 is supported as a guest operating system, as appropriate drivers are now available.
Known issue: During the installation of Windows 2025 or Windows 11, a black screen may occur when loading the Virtio GPU driver. Therefore, only the Virtio block driver should be loaded during installation; other Virtio drivers (especially GPU) should not be used during installation.
